I am a freelance artist living and working in an old farmhouse in Bodensdorf am Ossiacher See (on Lake Ossiach).
Since my earliest childhood painting has been my great love. Thanks to my training as a master painter and sign-maker in the master class in Baden/Wien, my studies gave me a wide spectrum of skills and knowledge covering both crafts and the arts.
I then participated in various drawing and painting courses in the Moosburg Summer Academy. Part of my work covers “Erlebnismalerei” – painting as a sensual pleasure – through huge murals and the creation of pictorial illusions (trompe-l’oeil). I am also currently studying pedagogy/educational science.
For the last 15 or so years I have been working (myself a mother of three children) with children in my workshops. Children have a unique and instinctive ability to express their feelings on paper or canvas. No previous experience of painting is necessary. For adults, painting presents the possibility of leaving the daily routine behind and plunging into another world. People who take part in my courses forget everything around them for a time and simply let their feelings flow on the canvas.

Something else that makes painting so enthralling is the power, and potential for power, that each colour can generate: on the one hand, through the shade itself – red, for example, has a vitalising, warming, fiery and erotic effect – but also through mixing together different forms of energy (e.g. Bach flowers or the ashes of primitive rocks) the most wonderful forms of symbiosis between humans and colours can come to pass.” |
